The US Department of Education announced Wednesday that there will be a delay in the release of the 2025-26 forms for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
The FAFSA forms for next year’s college applicants won’t be fully launched until December, two months behind the usual schedule. That’s according to an announcement from the Department of Education. Forms for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid have already seen difficulties, with the Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona calling it “challenging” and saying the department listened to input from students, families and schools.
IUP representatives said that around 8300 new, prospective, transfer and continuing students have already received their financial aid offers but there are still some that require FAFSA form corrections. Last year, 1300 applications from IUP students needed corrections.
