Another one of the 31 people indicted in drug ring sweep has entered guilty pleas in federal court.
U.S. Attorney Eric Olshan said 53-year-old George Mazey pleaded guilty to two counts of federal narcotics laws violations. He was one of the suspects indicted in a drug ring that included 28 others from Pennsylvania and people from California and Delaware. The drug ring operated between February to April of 2021 in Western Pennsylvania, distributing fentanyl, heroin, crack cocaine and cocaine. Mazey was intercepted on a federal wiretap obtaining quantities of drugs that he would later distribute to others.
He was part of the ring that included Ruby Gill, formerly of Indiana. She was ordered to serve up to nine years in prison and four years of probation after she was convicted in federal court.
His sentencing hearing is set for December 11th, and he faces between five and 40 years in prison, a fine of up to $5 million or both.
