The Marion Center girls won their eight straight Heritage Conference cross country team championship Thursday at Marion Center Park, while the Stingers’ boys denied the Purchase Line boys a three-peat as conference champions and beat out the Red Dragons by just three points, 44-47.
Marion Center’s MacKenzie Walker won the championship for the girls. Marion Center took five of the top seven spots. The Marion Center girls won with 19 points, 55 points ahead of Penns Manor.
Sophomore Hunter Armstrong won the boys’ championship for the Stingers, unseating Homer-Center’s Sam Cunkelman, who was going for his fourth consecutive championship. Cunkelman came in third.
