The Pennsylvania Game Commission on Saturday approved the schedules for the commonwealth’s hunting and trapping seasons.
One of the hot button issues was the start of rifle deer season. For this coming year, it will remain the Saturday after Thanksgiving, which is November 28th, and will run until December 13th. A bill in the state senate tried to get the date moved back to its traditional start of the Monday after Thanksgiving. Archery deer season will run October 30th to November 20th and December 26th to January 24th of 2027.
Firearms black bear season will run November 21st to the 24th. Archery black bear season will go from September 19th to November 27th.
