A non-jury trial is scheduled today for a man accused of strangling someone during a domestic dispute in 2025.
Court documents show 45-year-old Charles Waller Jr. of Dixonville will have his trial today before Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco. He faces charges of felony strangulation, misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. State police said on June 18th of last year, troopers were sent to a home in the 200 block of Second Avenue in Heilwood in Pine Township for a 911 hang-up call. A woman told the responding officers that she was involved in a verbal altercation with Waller that turned physical when he shoved her to the ground and started to strangle her using his hands. They noted that the victims injuries were consistent with the physical confrontation.
He has been free on $2500 bond. A non-jury trial was granted on March 20th.
