Anglers across West-Central Pennsylvania are checking their tackle boxes as the statewide opening day of trout season arrives tomorrow.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has ramped up stocking efforts across Clearfield, Jefferson, Indiana, and Clarion counties, part of a massive effort to distribute 3.2 million adult trout into Commonwealth waterways. See the trout stocking map here.
You are reminded that a 2026 fishing license and trout permit are required for those 16 and older, and cold-weather life jacket rules remain in effect for all boaters through the end of the month.
