One of the two individuals involved in a reported shooting during IUPatty’s Weekend is due in Indiana County District Court today for a preliminary hearing.
Court documents show 22-year-old Tymere Johnson of Clairton will go before District Judge Anthony Sottile today. He is charged with prohibited possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license and receiving stolen property for the incident that happened around 10:00 PM in the area of School Street and West Avenue. Indiana Borough Police said at the time that shots were fired by Johnson and another individual, then Johnson got into a car and sped off while the other suspect fled on foot. Johnson was later apprehended when police pulled the car over on Route 119. Johnson was carrying a .40 caliber handgun that was reportedly stolen. Police said the other shooter had a 9mm handgun.
Johnson has been in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail since his arrest. Police have not released any further information on the other suspect.
