BASEBALL
Trent Slovinsky rang up 14 strikeouts over six -and-two-thirds innings and had two hits and three RBIs as Marion Center dispatched United, 10-2. The Stingers broke it open in the 5th, scoring on an error, a two-run single by Slovinsky, a two-run triple by Camden Rising, an RBI single by Liam Roach, and an RBI lineout by Cole Adamson. United’s runs came on a two-run double by Connor Darr, who had two hits to lead the Lions.
Cambria Heights shut out Purchase Line, 10-0. The Highlanders did not provide any stats.
SOFTBALL
United scored 6 runs in the first 5 innings, then scored 6 in the 6th to put away Blacklick Valley, 12-0. Freshman Ella Worthington had 3 hits with a double and a triple and she gave up just one hit in the circle while striking out 14. Peyton Thomas also had 3 hits and Preslee Campbell and Bailey Pisarcik each had two hits.
Cambria Heights scored 3 in the 4th and made it hold up in a 3-2 win over Purchase Line. Brea Kountz drove in two runs and Carlie Jo Bachik drove in the other. Kaitlyn Houser and Alivia Weaver each had two hits for the Red Dragons.
