It wasn’t easy, but the IUP Crimson Hawks forged their way into the NCAA Division II Women’s Final Four with a come-from-behind, literal last-minute win in the Elite Eight yesterday.

Colorado Mesa eliminated Minnesota Duluth, 81-59 to set up tomorrow’s Final Four matchup with IUP. In the other half of the bracket, top seed Grand Valley State routed Carson Newman, 96-48 and Alabama Huntsville knocked out Cal Poly Pomona, 61-53.
Tomorrow’s games tip off at 6 and 8:30. The NCAA has put IUP in the second game, tipping off at 6 pm against Colorado Mesa, airtime 5:15 pm on U92.5 FM. Grand Valley State and Alabama Huntsville play the first game at 8:30.
Also yesterday, IUP junior Belle Bosch and senior Marin Miller were named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections. Bosch has a 3.8 grade-point average majoring in human resource management, while Miller carries a 3.53 GPA as a history major.
IUP MEN
Another day and another postseason honor for Dallis Dillard. The Division II Conference Commissioners Association has named the IUP senior a second-team All-American. He is the only PSAC player to make All-American this season.
