It was frustrating at times, but the IUP women were able to pull off an overtime victory over Holy Family yesterday to advance to the NCAA Division II Women’s Final Four tomorrow night.
The number of vocal IUP fans were enough to make it feel like a home game at the KCAC instead of the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse at the campus of Duquesne University. IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll was one of those fans who were stressed after seeing disastrous third quarter nearly upend the Crimson Hawks, but he admired how well they came back to win in OT.
The Crimson Hawks will take on Colorado Mesa tomorrow at 6 PM. That game will be heard on U-92.5 FM, starting at 5:15 pm. We’ll have more coming up in sports.
