A man charged with threatening to open fire the Downtown Indiana St. Patrick’s Day Parade will go before a district judge today for a preliminary hearing.
Court documents show 18-year-old Chase Joshua Mansfield faces two counts of making terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another and a single count of disorderly conduct in connection with the incident on Philadelphia Street on March 14th. Indiana Borough Police said Mansfield was heard by witnesses saying that he was going to “shoot up the parade” as he walked by them around 11:00. One of the witnesses was able to point him out in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street. Mansfield was detained and immediately arrested. He did not have a weapon in his possession.
Mansfield has been in Indiana County Jail on $50,000 bail since his arrest. His hearing is set for 11:00 in front of district judge Suzanne Steffee.
