A judge is denying the request for a new trial by a Westmoreland County man convicted of killing three family members.
Kevin Murphy was found guilty thirteen years ago in the 2009 murders of his mother, sister and aunt. Murphy was later sentenced to death. Murphy had been asking for a new trial saying there were issues with jury selection in the earlier trial and that his previous attorney was ineffective.
Judge Meagan Bilik- DeFazio this week has rejected that request.
