Lawyers for a man charged in the killing of a Lower Burrell business owner say they plan to present an insanity defense.
Nathan Salem is charged in the December 2023 fatal shooting of Mogie’s Irish Pub owner David Magill. Salem is expected to go on trial this fall on charges that include criminal homicide and first-degree murder.
His attorneys are telling the court that — at the time of the incident — Salem suffered from mental infirmities that resulted in his inability to form a specific intent to kill.
