At Tuesday’s Indiana Borough work session, council passed a resolution asking the state to complete a comprehensive review of Pennsylvania’s Children and Youth Services system.
The review would include funding structures, workforce capacity and access to mental health services for children, families and foster caregivers. Councilman Luke DeBuyser said that he was inspired to do this as he is a certified foster parent. He says that they will go to the Pennsylvania Municipal League to take up the charge to see if anyone else is seeing challenges in these areas.
The next borough council meeting is set for April 7th.
