The IUP Women advance to the Division 2 Elite Eight basketball tournament with a win last night at the KCAC.
The Crimson Hawks beat Winston-Salem 65-64 to win the Atlantic regional and advance to the national tournament. The Crimson Hawks definitely had home-court advantage on their side as many students returning from Spring Break were able to attend. That was not lost on IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll, who was a little hoarse after cheering for the team during the game.
Meanwhile, the IUP Men’s team is still in action as they take on number-one seed and host school Gannon in the Men’s Atlantic Regional tonight.
We’ll have more on both games coming up in sports.
