White Township has scheduled a public hearing for residents to comment on the 2026 Comprehensive Plan Update. The document updates the township’s “2020 Priorities,” which itself was an update of the Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2008.
The new iteration targets land use, housing, conservation, transportation, community facilities, and interrelationships with other entities, and contains goals and plans for future development. Some of the key areas of focus are the revitalization of Wayne Avenue, including the area around the Kovalchick Complex. Other elements are future growth at Windy Ridge and other potential job-creating properties, the 2016 Indiana Community University District Plan, and management of stormwater runoff, which is identified as “a major environmental challenge” for White Township.
The public hearing will be the first item of business at the township supervisors meeting, on March 25th at 1 PM.
