At their meeting this afternoon, the White Township Supervisors heard a lot of public comments concerning a proposed ordinance.
Several township residents turned out to voice their opposition to ordinance 1101, which pertains to junked, abandoned, and nuisance vehicles. Many cited concerns about how the ordinance interacts with private property and their right thereof. Others talked about the language used, saying that under the proposed ordinance they would be forced to get rid of vehicles that are used for their business.
The board of supervisors decided to take no action on the ordinance at this time, with township manager Chris Anderson saying they need more time to review it.
In other business, supervisors reported on a letter from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. It stated that the proposed Whites Woods Stewardship Plan follows all best practices, and no further contact with the department is necessary.
Council will meet again on March 25th at 1 pm.
