A ribbon cutting was held Monday afternoon to unveil Indiana Regional Medical Center’s new mobile health unit.
Elected officials and community members gathered at the hospital’s main campus to get a first look at what Rachel Grove, the Outpatient Social Work Director for IRMC, calls a “doctor’s office on wheels”.
The unit was paid for by funds from the opioid settlement, through the Indiana County Commissioners and in partnership with the Armstrong Indiana Clarion Drug & Alcohol Commission. Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith said he is confident this mobile health unit will “knock down barriers” surrounding rural access to healthcare.
You can learn more about the mobile unit at IRMC’s website.
