The United Way of Indiana County’s “Night of Unity: A Celebration of the Arts” gala was an overwhelming success.
The event Saturday night drew close to 300 people to the Indiana Country Club to honor Joyce Sharman and her years of philanthropy. She was presented with a special “Community Unifier” award.

Sharman talked about how she felt about being honored.
As part of the evening, Indiana native and opera star Edward Parks performed three songs.

The Indiana native is a two-time Grammy winner and has performed opera across the United States, and has performed on tour with Andrea Bocelli. He talked about being able to come back home and perform Saturday night.
Several luxury items were also auctioned off to raise even more money for the United Way. The final total for this event and the total fundraiser will be announced March 27th.
