Today is expected to be a busy day for the Downtown Indiana area with two major events on the schedule.
One of them is Downtown Indiana’s annual Chilli and Soup cookoff, which will run noon to 3 PM. The annual competition benefits Downtown Indiana, and will be held this year at the Coney’s Dubliner room. It will feature professional and student chefs along with home cooks bringing their best dishes to the table. Admission is $20, with kids 12 and under free. Tickets are available at the door.
The other event is a protest against the war in Iran as part of a nationwide movement against the recent actions overseas. That rally is scheduled for noon at IRMC park at the intersection of 7th and Philadelphia Streets. Expect heavier-than-normal foot traffic around that area this afternoon.
