A Clymer woman charged with animal cruelty is due in court today for a preliminary hearing.
Court documents show 31-year-old Palina Williams is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, intimidation of a witness, invasion of privacy, two counts of cruelty to animals, unlawful confinement, and violation of vaccination and dog license laws for an incident on February 20th. On that day, state police said she abandoned a dog along a road. That dog was found the next day on Valley Road in Green Township by a passerby. The dog was found with chicken bones in its stomach and two fractures in its pelvis. It was taken to a veterinarian. An investigation revealed that Williams reportedly abandoned the dog and had asked someone else to either kill or abandon the animal. She also reportedly sent nude photos to the other individual to keep her from talking.
She has been in Indiana County Jail since her arrest on February 24th in lieu of $100,000 bond. The hearing will be held later today in front of district judge Anthony Sottile.
