PennDOT is partnering with Triple A, the Pennsylvania DUI Association, and local law enforcement agencies to launch “Operation Sober Shamrock” today.
The effort is meant to deter impaired driving ahead of Saint Patrick’s Day. Police will run additional patrols now through the 17th, keeping an eye out for motorists who could be under the influence.
Funding from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration helps pay for the initiative.
