Two hearings will be held today in front of Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco today. One of them is for a man charged with crimes related to racketeering.
Court documents show that a plea hearing is set for this afternoon for 32-year-old Jeffrey Shipman of Pittsburgh. He is charged with conspiracy to three racketeering-related counts, dealing in unlicensed activities with intent to promote, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, criminal use of a communications facility and unlawful use of a computer. The charges go back to an investigation on May 30th of 2023.
Also on the schedule today is a motions hearing for 34-year-old Michael Gorrio of Indiana. He is charged with aggravated assault-attempts to cause serious bodily injury and assault by a prisoner facility employee for an incident on March 22nd. Today’s motions hearing will include a move to dismiss and for discovery of inculpatory/exculpatory evidence.
