A North Apollo man charged with two separate incidents of vehicle theft on consecutive days in September of last year was ordered to serve time in state prison.
Court officials say 39-year-old Jacob Penrose pleaded to charges of theft by unlawful taking, robbery of a motor vehicle and possession of an instrument of crime for an incident on September 17th of last year and to theft, driving under suspension and flight to avoid apprehension for a separate incident the following day. On the 17th, police said he stole a motorcycle at gunpoint from someone trying to sell it to him in Creekside. He dropped the gun used in the robbery during a chase. The next day, he took an unattended car in Young Township.
He will serve up to six years in state prison for all the charges and was ordered to pay all appropriate fines and court costs.
