District Attorney Robert Manzi announced that 65-year-old Kathy Twigg was charged with felony financial exploitation of older adult or care dependent person and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, as well as misdemeanor misapplication of entrusted funds.
The Indiana County Detective’s Bureau received a report that the victim, a ninety-three year woman was removed from her nursing care facility for failure to make required payments. It was determined that Twigg, who served as the victim’s power of attorney, did not make the required payments for the victim’s care.
Other bills and obligations of the victim’s were also not addressed by Twigg. She instead stole the money and used it for her own personal gain.
Twigg will be sentenced May 8th.
