Leaders with Pittsburgh Action Against Rape are urging parents to keep an eye out for signs of sextortion.
The warning comes after an 18-year-old Peters Township High School senior was charged for allegedly posing as an adult film star to get inappropriate photos from over a dozen teens. William McGinnis with PAAR says these schemes are common and it is important for parents to make sure their kids know they can tell them if something like this happens.
McGinnis adds that sudden behavior changes in young people, like refusing to visit friends or not wanting to go to school, could be a signal that something is wrong.
