The status of the Indiana School District’s finances was discussed at the Indiana School Board meeting Monday night.
In a discussion with financial experts during the audit and finance committee meeting before the regular voting meeting, the district was told that its Standard and Poor’s credit rating was single-A, but their outlook was downgraded from stable to negative. Committee Chairman Doug Steve said this was based on a few factors.
He hopes the district outlook will move out of the negative outlook over the next two years.
In other business, the board congratulated junior high students Myra Levri and Olivia Scott and bus driver Deb Kalanavich for their actions in helping a woman who was found lying in her driveway. Kalanavich stopped mid-route to provide aid and Levri and Scott also assisted.
