At a meeting this morning, the Indiana County Commissioners approved several contracts and grants for the Indiana County Jimmy Stewart Airport Terminal Apron Project.
A combined grant total of $559,800 from over two fiscal years is coming from the FAA, coordinated through PennDOT’s Bureau of Aviation as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. That money will go towards construction costs, administrative expenses, engineering fees and project inspection fees. Byron Stauffer of the office of Planning and Development said that this is a great example of utilizing federal and state resources for a local project.
The commissioners approved the construction contract and a bid alternate with HRI out of State College for $269,000 and $55,200 respectively.
