For the second time in less than a year, Clymer Borough is going to be without a police chief.
On the proposed agenda for tonight’s Clymer Borough Council Meeting is the resignation of Adam Lewis as the Clymer Borough Police Chief. He started as acting chief in July of last year after prior chief Charles Waller, Jr. resigned after accusations rose from a domestic incident where he was charged with simple assault, strangulation and other crimes. Lewis is facing legal problems as well as in connection with an incident in September while he was off-duty at a home on Franklin Street. State police said that he was involved in an encounter with a 26-year-old man and knocked the cell phone out of the man’s hand. He was charged with criminal mischief. Lewis submitted his resignation on January 23rd.
A related motion will give borough manager Sonya Schrenkel permission to advertise for the opening at the chief of police’s position.
The meeting will be held tonight at 7:00 PM at the Clymer Borough Building
