Wednesday night, Clymer Borough Council accepted the resignation of its police chief Adam Lewis.
In his resignation letter, Lewis said that he was dealing with ongoing medical conditions, which have gotten to the point that he is no longer able to safely serve the community. Borough Manager Sonya Schrenkel said that he had done a lot of good things in his brief time as chief.
Council also approved Schrenkel’s decision to advertise the vacancy. There have been some applicants to fill the chief of police and officer positions and interviews are expected to start soon. In the meantime, State Police will provide coverage for Clymer Borough.
