At the Olympics, the big event on the schedule for Team USA today happens in women’s hockey, where the U.S. women tangle with their bitter rivals, Team Canada, in the Americans’ final preliminary round game. Team USA is 3-and-0 after beating Switzerland 5-0 yesterday. They’ve outscored their opponents 15-1 in those three games. The Canadians are 2-and-0 in Milan. Canada beat the U.S. in the gold medal game in 2022.
The goaltender for the Team USA is Gwyneth Phillips, a graduate of Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh. She’s eager to face the Canadians.
