A Westmoreland County man was sentenced on Wednesday to time in prison for fentanyl and heroin trafficking.
US Attorney Troy Rivetti announced that 36-year-old Kevin Watson was ordered to serve 136 months in prison. Watson was stopped by state police in 2019 after leading them on a high-speed chase with his child in the vehicle with him. Watson crashed the vehicle, left the child and fled on foot. When state police searched the vehicle, they found over $100,000 worth of a mix of fentanyl and heroin in the trunk.
Rivetti said that Watson does have an extensive criminal record, including three previous drug trafficking convictions and was on parole at the time of the chase.
