Richard C. Thompson, 93, of Marion Center, passed away peacefully in Crystal Waters Personal Care Home, on Monday, February 2, 2026.
He was born in Indiana on September 11, 1932, to the late Benton and Sara (Swan) Thompson. Richard graduated from Marion Center High School in 1950 and honorably served our country in the United States Army. Richard was a lifelong farmer; he worked for TW Phillips Gas and Oil Company, retiring in 1996.
Being outdoors was Richard’s happy place, he loved mowing his lawn, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Indiana.
Surviving Richard are his children, son Terry (Dorie) Thompson of Punxsutawney, son David (Roxanne) Thompson of Marion Center, daughter Dianna Thompson-Lydic of Marion Center, daughter Tammy (Dale) Thompson-Barnoff of Rochester Mills, daughter Debbie (Mike) Mumau-Drushel of Butler, daughter Jane Thompson of Indiana, and son Lee (Jamie) Thompson of Indiana; five step children, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two wives, Patricia (Mumau) Thompson, and Mary Lou (Gibson) Thompson, a daughter Debra Thompson-Hodak, a granddaughter Jennifer Lydic, a son-in-law Jim Lydic, as well as two siblings.
Friends and family are invited to the Bowser Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, on Monday February 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM with Pastor Terry Semsick officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are asked to be made to the Bethel Presbyterian Church, 1470 Bethel Church Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
