Charges filed against a Maryland man for a stabbing last month will head to Indiana County’s Court of common pleas.
At a preliminary hearing yesterday, charges were ordered held for court against 30-year-old Detroien Trezman Hobbs. He is accused of breaking into a home in the 1100 block of Oak Street on January 21st and stabbing his ex-girlfriend multiple times in front of someone she was providing care for. The two met online and he moved up here to be with her, but the relationship became abusive and she broke it off before the attack. The victim was stabbed multiple times, but Indiana Borough and IUP Police and Citizen’s Ambulance EMTs were able to respond quickly and saved her life.
Hobbs is charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault-attempts to cause serious bodily injury, burglary and possession of an instrument of crime. He will remain in Indiana County Jail without bond. A formal arraignment hearing is scheduled for March 24th in front of County Judge Gina Force.
