Richard “Dick” L. Dandois, 89, of Indiana, formerly residing off Route 286 near Kent, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
He was born in Kane, Pennsylvania on March 12, 1936, to the late Lewis G. and Ruth (Cathcart) Dandois.
Dick graduated from Emporium High School in 1954. He then received his degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University at the DuBois Campus and honorably served in the United States Army. His career began with Bell Labs in New Jersey and ended in 1994 after over 25 years of service at the Keystone Generating Station in Shelocta, working most of his years as shift supervisor.
Through the years, Dick was a member of the Driftwood Emporium Masonic Lodge in Cameron County, the Saltsburg First United Methodist Church, and the Western Pennsylvania Corvair Club of Pittsburgh. He enjoyed collecting Lionel trains, target shooting, and home repairs.
Surviving Dick is his wife of 61 years, Marie Cecilia (Zerbe) Dandois, daughter Jean Marie (Kevin Gonzalez) Dandois, of Trappe, PA, son Steven Richard Dandois of Los Angeles, CA, grandchild Gavin Thomas Bednar of Rochester, NY, and brother-in-law Michael E. Zerbe of Emporium, PA.
