The Heritage Conference boys championship matchup is set for Friday night on “The Road to the KCAC, Presented by First Commonwealth Bank”, and it will be a neighborhood rivalry between United and River Valley.

In the other semifinal, River Valley avenged an early-season loss to Conemaugh Township.

River Valley coach Rick Spallone says the Panthers will give it everything they’ve got on Friday.
Tonight, The Road to the KCAC features the girls’ semifinals, with West number one Penns Manor hosting East number two Cambria Heights while East first-place finisher United welcomes West number two Marion Center.
Penns Manor is 19-2 and nipped Cambria Heights 41-39 when the two teams played last month. The Highlanders are 12-8. United is 13-8 and Marion Center 18-1. The Stingers won the first matchup with the Lions, 55-52 in December.
Both games tonight will be on Renda Digital TV, with airtime at 6:45 tonight.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Portage bested West Shamokin, 43-23 last night. Freshman Owen Slanoc led all scorers with 18 points. Tyson Burkett scored 13 and Darnell Cladwell had 10. Alex Talmadge had 14 of West Shamokin’s 23 points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
A career night for Indiana’s Julia Antonacci, who scored a career-high 31 points in a 58-30 win over section foe West Mifflin. Indiana is 17-3, and 9-1 in Section.
