A Brookville, Pennsylvania, man has been charged in connection with an alleged taxidermy fraud scheme involving at least 16 victims, police said.
Chad Kurtz, 53, owner of Chad Kurtz Taxidermy, is accused of accepting money and animal hides since November 2019 and failing to perform any taxidermy work or return the hides upon request. Kurtz was arrested on a warrant and lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
Kurtz faces felony counts including deceitful business practices, theft by deception and receiving stolen property, along with related charges, according to the Brookville Police Department.
