A planned road closure tied to a bridge replacement project in East Wheatfield Township has been delayed by PennDOT.
PennDOT says the closure of Wherum Road near the bridge over Mardis Run will not begin as scheduled. The closure was set to start today and run through July 23rd, but no reason has been given for the delay, and there’s no new start date yet.
The closure is expected to affect Wherum Road near its intersection with River Road. PennDOT says the $3.93 million bridge replacement project is still moving forward, with completion anticipated in April of 2027.
