State police are investigating two incidents of fraudulent checks at banks in Indiana County and are looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
The transactions happened on January 23rd at S&T Bank locations on Resort Plaza Drive in Blairsville and on North Main Street in Homer City. An elderly male suspect came in to both locations and deposited fraudulent checks using the information from a victim’s PNC Bank account, including routing and account numbers. After depositing the checks, the suspect withdrew $2500 from the Blairsville branch and $6000 from the Homer City location.
The suspect wore blue jeans, a black flat hat, a dark sweater and carried a cane. He was also seen with an earbud in his left ear at each incident.
