The IUP women got back on track last night against Cal, but the men let an opportunity slip away. Jack Benedict recaps a doubleheader split.
Women’s coach Craig Carey says IUP’s depth was a difference-maker.
Men’s coach Joe Lombardi didn’t like IUP’s approach offensively.
Both IUP teams will face a stiff test on Saturday on the road at Seton Hill.
Last night’s women’s game was a homecoming for Homer-Center grad Macy Sardone, who started and played 35 minutes for Cal, scoring six points on two three-pointers, with two rebounds.
She enjoyed seeing so many friends and family members at the KCAC.
Sardone says her first two years were a learning experience for her, coming to understand the college game and Cal’s system. Now, she’s learning through playing.
Cal coach Jess Strom loves having Sardone on her team.
