The latest storm projection for Indiana County is for a total of 12 to 18 inches of snow through noon on Monday, with 6 to 10 inches falling between 7 AM and 7 PM today (Sunday). On the back end of the storm, frigid temperatures and wind will continue to make it dangerous to be outdoors, and hazardous winter travel conditions will be affected by drifting snow. The wind and snow will reduce visibility for drivers as well.
Commercial vehicles have been banned from many major roadways across the commonwealth, including one main highway in Indiana County. Commercial vehicles are not permitted on Route 22 between Delmont and Altoona, according to PennDOT’s 511PA.com road condition website.
