PiratesFest is this Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM at the David L,. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, but there will be some big-name Buccos missing. Paul Skenes will be in New York to accept the Cy Young Award. Bubba Chandler will miss the event as he is closing on a new home, and 19-year-old Konnor Griffin is on his honeymoon.
Most of the other active players will be there, although Andrew McCutchen will not as he is currently a free agent.
Among former Pirates expected to attend are Vernon Law, Doug Drabek, John Candelaria, Matt Capps, Jason Grilli, Kent Tekulve and Bob Walk, and Walk’s fellow broadcasters Michael McKenry, Neil Walker and Kevin Young.

A big trade yesterday in Major Leagues Baseball…The Mets get two-time All-Star pitcher Freddy Peralta and pitcher Tobias Myers in exchange for infielder Jett Williams and pitcher Brandon Sproat. Peralta led MLB in wins in 2025, with 17 last year.
The Yankees re-sign left fielder Cody Bellinger to a five-year contract worth over $160-million, including opt outs after the second and third seasons,
