State Representatives Jim Struzzi and Brian Smith along with Senator Joe Pittman announced over $4 million in state grant money is coming to Indiana County for several projects.
Most of that is from the Multimodal Transportation Fund, which provides grants to encourage economic development and make sure the transportation system is safe and reliable. The awards include:
- A $2.3 million grant for the county for Windy Ridge Business and Technology Park for their roadway project to build a roadway extension between Windy Ridge Road and Rustic Lodge Road.
- $522,882 for the Campground Road Paving Project in Brush Valley Township
- $190,501 to Center Township for further road rehabilitation
- $115,625 to Blairsville Borough for the Walnut Street Sidewalks Project.
Grant money is also coming in from the PA Small Water and Sewer program for three projects.
- Central Indiana County Joint Sanitary Authority will receive $500,000 for manhole repair with potential replacements, inspections and GIS mapping.
- Indiana County Municipal Services Authority will receive $377,825 to replace seven generator transfer switches and another $249,681 for the Shryock Dredging Project.
The PA Small Water and Sewer Program assists with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply system, sanitary sewer system, storm sewer system, or flood control projects.
