The IUP basketball teams return home tonight for a doubleheader at the KCAC.
Coach Craig Carey’s undefeated 7th-ranked women are coming off a 68-63 win over previously unbeaten, 5th-ranked Gannon on Saturday, and they play an Edinboro team that is only 11-7, but is 8-1 in the stacked PSAC West. IUP leads the division at 9-0, with Gannon and Seton Hill both 9-1.
IUP’s tremendous inside force, Ny’Shae Weaver, is the PSAC West Athlete of the Week for women’s basketball. She averaged 20 points per game in two games last week and shot 83 percent from the field.
Coach Joe Lombardi’s IUP men are coming off a loss to Gannon on Saturday. The Crimson Hawks are 11-3, 7-2 in the PSAC West. Edinboro is 8-8 and 4-5 in the PSAC.
Airtime tonight on 92.5 FM U92 is 5:15, with the ladies’ game tipping off at 5:30.
