At a work session Tuesday night, Indiana Borough Council approved a contract for the Philadelphia Street Traffic Control Project.
The contract is with Traffic Control and Engineering Company out of Bentleyville in the amount of $45,425. The project will make all the traffic lights between Fourth and Ninth Street a four-way red light for pedestrian crossings, which will make sure that there are no cars in motion when people cross the streets. Borough Manager Nicole Sipos talks about the next steps of the project.
Council also approved advertising the Indiana Borough Zoning Ordinance Project Update, along with two amendments to two parts of the borough code to align with those updates. Those will be available for public review before final passage after 45 days.
