Gasoline prices across the United States remain significantly lower than a year ago as the national average for a gallon of regular gas settled at $2.82 on Tuesday. The price was $3.09 at this time last year.
In Pennsylvania, drivers are paying a premium compared to the rest of the country, with the statewide average holding at $3.03. According to data from AAA and GasBuddy, localized prices in Western Pennsylvania show notable fluctuations; Jefferson County currently offers the most relief in the region with an average of $3.03, while Clearfield County remains higher at $3.17. In Clarion and Indiana Counties, prices continue to hover between $3.09 and $3.19, reflecting a volatile start to the year even as global crude oil markets remain relatively stable.
In Indiana County, the lowest reported gas price is $2.84 at two locations in Homer City.
