The Penguins finally got the offensive outburst they’d been searching for, and against their hated rivals from Philadelphia. Paul Steigerwald has the recap.
Coach Dan Muse says Sidney Crosby, with his 60th career goal against the Flyers, exemplifies one of the biggest rivalries in the NHL.
Muse is impressed with the skills Egor Chinakhov brings to the Penguins, and says the recent acquisition from the Blue jackets is developing a rapport with Evgeni Malkin.
The Penguins will host Columbus tomorrow night before taking off for the West Coast to play four games in seven days, starting in Seattle on Monday, followed by visits to Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.
Penguins minor leaguers Tristan Broz and Sergei Murashov have been named to the AHL All-Star Classic, a three-on-three format that will be played February 11th in Rockford, Illinois. Broz leads Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with 26 points (13 goals and 13 assists) and Murashov sports a shiny 13-4 record with a 2.03 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.
