Trends for flu and RSV are on the downswing after a holiday season surge.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported that as of January 10th, flu activity is decreasing rapidly but may see another increase next week. 61,139 lab-confirmed cases of flu have been reported in the state with 71 flu-related deaths reported. Emergency department visits with a flu diagnosis are at a moderate level in Pennsylvania.
RSV is also seeing a decrease in activity but may see another uptick next week. The Department of Health reports 7,624 lab-confirmed cases in Pennsylvania this respiratory virus season, with emergency room visits low.
In Indiana County, 125 flu cases have been reported this season, which started September 28th, along with 14 cases of RSV.
