After a week off, the IUP basketball teams are back in action tonight with a doubleheader at Slippery Rock. Both teams last played at home, sweeping UPJ last Wednesday.
The undefeated 8th-ranked women put their 13-0 record on the line against a 5-9 PSAC West opponent. The Rock women have lost five straight games and they are 1-4 at home this season. Coach Craig Carey’s IUP women have won the last four times they’ve played Slippery Rock.
For Joe Lombardi and his Crimson Hawks men, it’s a matchup with a quality PSAC West foe. IUP is 10-2 and 6-1 in the conference. Slippery Rock is 13-3 and 6-2. Last year, the two teams split the regular season series but IUP beat The Rock, 69-67 in the PSAC Tournament.
Airtime tonight for the women’s game is 5:15 on 92.5 FM U92, with the men’s game to follow.
