Alex Talmadge scored a career-high 33 points and passed the 1,000 career points mark in West Shamokin’s 46-40 non-conference win over Valley. Talmadge joins Bradyn Rodgers to become the first two players to top the 1,000-point mark in two consecutive seasons. He is the seventh 1,000-point scorer in program history.
A big win for Marion Center, which trailed by 8 at the half but stormed back in the final two quarters to beat Conemaugh Township, 53-51. Tyler Pack led the Stingers with 15, Hayden Fox had 14, and Kamden Rozier 11. For the Indians, Collin Dinyar scored 19 and Stephen Stango 12.
Northern Cambria took an 8-point lead after one quarter and went on to a 64-43 win over Portage. Malik Fox scored 24 points to lead the Colts and Danny Farrell scored 12. Tyson Burkett led Portage with 11.
Undefeated United played Punxsutawney in a non-conference game at Punxsy, and the Lions came away with a 52-41 win. Carter Payne led the way with 17 points, Brody Burkett scored 11, and Cole McGinnis 10 for the Lions.
Penns Manor played Ligonier Valley in a non-conference game but lost to the Rams, 80-41.

Indiana fell to 5-9-1 with an 8-0 loss to 13-1-1 Quaker Valley.

Marion Center’s swim teams split a meet with Cambria Heights, the girls falling, 87-83 and the boys winning, 76-49.

Marion Center Stingrays Deliver Strong Performances Against Cambria Heights
Marion Center, Pa. — The Marion Center High School Stingrays had an impressive night in the pool on January 12, 2026, as both the girls and boys teams posted numerous first-place finishes in a competitive meet against Cambria Heights High School.
The Marion Center women’s team battled to the final event before narrowly falling to Cambria Heights by a score of 87–83. Despite the close loss, the Stingrays turned in several standout performances. Rowen Wagner claimed first place in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle. In the 200-yard individual medley, Jorjah Kessler and Eva Long finished first and second, and in the 100-yard butterfly, Jorjah Kessler and Lilly Schultz finished first and second.
Marion Center also swept the 100 backstroke by Eva Long, Reagan Storm, and Carissa Adkins. The Stingrays capped the meet with a strong showing in the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing first and second. The winning relay team consisted of Jorjah Kessler, Charleigh Swigart, Lindsey Reaugh, and Rowen Wagner, while the second-place team featured Lilly Schultz, Maggie Vaglia, Adelyn Cook, and Carissa Adkins.
On the men’s side, the Stingrays earned a decisive 76–49 victory over Cambria Heights, powered by depth across individual and relay events. The team of Gage Pennington, Jack Cooper, PJ Shellhammer, and Jacob Weil opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
Seth Boring had a standout performance, winning both the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly. Carson Wells added multiple victories, taking first place in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. Jack Cooper earned first place in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Relay success continued for Marion Center as Jacob Weil, Seth Boring, Gage Pennington, and Carson Wells captured first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The meet concluded with another relay win, as PJ Shellhammer, Jack Cooper, Seth Boring, and Carson Wells took first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
